This is a professionally designed trekking and climbing adventure in Nepal. Our itinerary first takes you to Everest Base Camp, the popular trekking destination, and Kala Patthar for close-up views of Mount Everest, before scaling the Island Peak, also locally called “Imja Tse”.
Our journey begins with an exciting mountain flight to Lukla and treks up the Dudh Kosi Valley, surrounded by the soaring peaks of Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. It’s a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Khumbu Sherpa. During the trek, one can enjoy the spectacular mountain vistas. A rest day in Namche Bazaar helps proper acclimatization and go for optional walks to enjoy the surrounding area.
We walk through Tengboche, Dingboche, Gorak Shep and ultimately reach Everest Base Camp. After enjoying magnificent views of Mt. Everest and surrounding peaks, we continue to descend to Chukhung. After a day of walking from Chukhung, we reach the Island Peak Base Camp to prepare for the summit attempt. It may take an additional day or two to scale the peak depending on weather conditions. For some people, reaching the summit from the base camp is a day’s activity! After a successful summit, we return to Namche and walk down to Lukla to catch the return flight to Kathmandu.

We leave very early morning for the final climb to the summit. This may take between four to six hours, depending on snow and weather conditions. We fix a rope on the summit headwall for safety on both ascent and descent. Although it is not a technically difficult climb, the snow slopes are crevassed, the headwall is reasonably steep and a head for heights is useful. To reach the summit, willpower and stamina are most important, but the incredible feeling of achievement atop this 6,165 m giant will remain a lifetime memory. The view from the summit is utterly fantastic! Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Makalu, and Baruntse are the dominant giants rising above a sea of smaller peaks. Given good conditions, we should be able to descend back to Chukkung after our summit. Overnight at a Lodge
